The Poderi di Montemerano were born at the end of the 1500s and initially took the name of "Poderi di Sotto", originally the village was born as a refuge for livestock and agricultural tools for nearby Montemerano but an autonomous community soon developed, starting from construction of the Castelletto Santarelli and some other private houses.
Of particular interest is the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, dating back to 1955, truly enchanting, with a Romanesque style and a typically Tuscan bell tower.
